Owensboro is the fourth largest city by population in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is the county seat of Daviess County. It is located about 32 miles (51 km) southeast of Evansville, Indiana, and is the principal city of the Owensboro, Kentucky, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Owensboro bills itself as the Barbecue Capital of the World.

Owensboro touts itself as the industrial, medical, retail and cultural hub of western Kentucky. The City is strategically located on the southern banks of the Ohio River, which provides a majestic backdrop to their Downtown Revitalization initiative and Riverfront Master Plan.
