Turneffe Islands, Belize

The Turneffe islands are a located 25 miles east of Belize City. The area is popular for diving and fishing and is home to three upmarket resorts and a research station. The islands are made up of mangroves and swamp land which is home to sea and wading birds, ospreys, manatees and crocodiles.
